hello all,
I'm having trouble alligning an infill wall (from a demo-ed window), to its host wall....say exterior face to exterior face.
whenever I pick an option for the "location line" of the infill wall, nothing happens. it seems to be stuck at the center of the
hosting wall and center of the demo-ed window....
if I try to move it manually, it gives me a warning saying "infill wall was moved to be aligned to host" meaning the demoed
window....but while the window is correctly aligned in the wall, the infill is thinnner then the host wall, so I want to align
both on the exterior face.
let me know if there is a better way to controll infill wall allignment..
thanks!
PS: using revit arch 2016

I will assume you have tried using the align tool under the modify tab to correctly position your infil wall. If you have used that and still it does not work you could maybe try to alter your demoed windows inset parameter (hopefully it has one) so that the infill wall will be align correctly to the exterior face of wall. Also if you post some screenshots it would be easier to understand the problem.

After some experimentation. I believe I have an answer. In the New Phase, select the infilling wall element, and select "Location Line" : "Finish Face: Exterior." Then, press the wall face flip button in plan view (The blue two way arrow that indicates the exterior side of a wall), this will realign the infilling element to the exterior of the existing host wall, if you press it again, you can realign it to the other side of the existing host wall.
Hope this helps! See attached picture for reference.
