Hello there fellows. I am James and came across this lovely website because of my journey of BIM and Parametric Modeling.

I love staying here and hope you can help me with my problems in my learning curve about these topics. :D and by the way how can I model this kind of model?

Please see the image below:I want it to be a Sun Shading device around a building (It seems like it wraps the building and serves as a skin before the walls and glass) which is bigger at the base and smaller at the top. I have an idea that it can be modeled in revit via adaptive components but I don't know how will it be modeled in step by step. I hope someone can enlighten me about this. Thanks. I've seen a tutorial about how the "BIRDS NEST" is modeled in revit but how can I make it planar and not spherical. Please enlighten me about these Smile Sorry for my first post that it becomes an inquiry Smile

Please see the image below.

That is the Building that I want to model in revit. I created it in Max with Quick Slice Plane in Edit Poly Mode. I'm just wondering how can I model it in revit that wraps around the building

You have to crawl first, then walk before you can think about running.   There is no way to tell you how to do this 'step by step'.  Learn first how to use Revit massing environment.  Then learn how to create an adaptive componet family.  Even then, you will be having a hard time with this.

Come back when you have some more direct questions.
