Hi, I have been trying to build a parametric curtain panel or pattern based panel that contains arabic pattern.

after much effort i managed to almost parameter half of the panel, but i must have reach revit limit of number of item parameterd because i could no more add constrain to reference plan.

I want the panel to be able to fit difference size of curtain panel. I want to be able to manage the space of the void.

I work in the middle east and arabic panel are a must. But it seem they cant be done on revit because of their complexity.

thanks for your help community!

In most cases, you don’t want to model this.  http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=15813&start=0

If you think you have to model, then look at this post:

hi, Thank you for your reply.

I tried your method (picture 01). It is interesting but if i am not mistaken the placement of the void element is completly random and not parametered.

The screen i would like to do must be auto adjuesting to the panel width and height. (Picture 2), we have modeled a panel by extrusion but we had to set the width and the height exactly from measurement of the panel in the project. thus they are not flexible at all.

the pattern i want to create has more than 60 references planes.

My ultimate goal is the creation of a screen patterned where I can draw the famous Doha building (picture 03)

cheers

You can add all the parameters you need to control the void family but what parameters do you need?   It looks like this is a constant, repeating pattern.   Just make the family big enough to fit any size panel.   The void can extend past the host.

Looking at your latest image, I think the material would be a better solution.
