These beam systems are killin me, though not any worse than most things on Revit that you've never done before.
So I have a beam and a wall and I want to use them as supports for a beam system. Somehow I cannot choose them as supports and so the beam system is at the level associated with the plan view and it's flat. I've been stuck on this for a while now and I would almost rather just place the beams manually, but I know this has to work.

Make sure your walls are structural and check 3D option in beam system properties.
