What are you trying to tag?
Is site/topography on and possibly hiding what you want to tag or maybe a floor?

We try to help but we can only work with what you give us. I asked what (element), not what material. And TDS - what the heck does that stand for? You need to ask your questions clearly and provide some images when possible because that answers a lot.

TDS IS A "TURNED DOWN SLAB" EDGE WHICH IS A PROFILE. SINCE I CANNOT TAG A PROFILE I FOUND A WORK AROUND THAT YOU CREATE A MATERIAL CALLED (TDS0.7) FOR 8" TURN DOWN SLAB AND USE A MATERIAL TAG TO LABEL IT.
THE MATERIAL TAG WORKS ON MY MEZZANIE PLAN BUT NOT MY FOUNDATION PLAN.
NOT SURE WHY

You can tag it in plan because you can see it! You have to see the material and slab edge profiles are typically placed under the slab. Here is a slab with a standard slab edge on the right. You can tag it in section but not plan. On the left is a junk slab edge who's profile makes it come above the slb. You can tag it in section and plan.

I understand that but the material tag will not even tag my wall or anything in that view. in the visibility/graphics box that material tag is checked.
!!!!! I fixed it but not sure how? i set up a foundation plan view template and a mezzanine plan view template when i started this job so im my foundation plan i switch the foundation plan view template to mezzanine plan view template and it worked. i have a box check somewhere in that template that i can not find.
thank you for your help.
