i am dropping some W-sections and some HSS columns into my 1 story model. i cannot attach the columns to the generic roof that we have. the roof is sloping, and other than cutting a quick section at each column location to determine height to the roof, is there a quick way to get the columns at the appropriate height?

Visually, you can create a reference plane locked to the top of the roof (or offset 1" above). You can then use this reference plane to cut each and every column.
That's the only solution I've found so far.
