Hi everyone,

I'm on the hunt for a new laptop, and there are too many options out there for me to not ask for help. I've got a Sony Vaio now and I really like it, however it's 6 years old and retiring.

My budget is up to and around $2000, i just want something that is reliable and powerful and minimises the amount of grief as I'm fairly computer illiterate. Main use will be Revit (above all, by far), AutoCAD and be able to run Illustrator and Photoshop as well.

I want to go for a 15"ish screen so I can travel with it, and add a monitor or two at home.

All suggestions are welcome, I'd look at Apple too but have heard it can be painful with Revit, so your opinion on the subject is much appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

I run a Macbook. I tried running Revit on Parallels but have deleted that now to run Revit on a drive partition using Boot Camp. I run Windows 8.1 and Revit runs brilliantly.

I've had Vaios but found Sonys support was shambolic.

If you go for a non-apple laptop you want one with the fastest processor you can afford. Compare using this https://www.cpubenchmark.net/.
