I am new to Revit, I am not having much luck constraining families inside of my building model to keep them in place.

We mount car wash equipment inside of buildings, I can't believe that Revit won't allow me to constrain and adjust

equipment inside of the building. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can constrain pretty much everything in Revit.   You need to spend some time with tutorials and instructional videos.  You should also learn to use the built in HELP.   It is very easy - Just hit the ? on the right/top of your screen.   A simple searh 'constrain' brings up a lot.  Read this one:

  • Dimension Cannot Be Made Constraining
Dimension Cannot Be Made Constraining Warning: The dimension cannot be made constraining. Issue: While creating a family, you have tried to make a reference dimension constraining. Solution: You cannot turn a reference dimension into a constraint.

This is what I am running into.  I am used to constraining items with dimensions so they can be adjustable.

Thanks in advance for any tips
