Hi Guys,

I made an opening on a floor for my stairs in a 3 floor home, however for some odd reason, In plan view, I cant see the stairs through this opening, just a white empty hole. Theres also a number of wierd instances:

  1. On the other floors, I am still able to see the stairs showing through the openings in plan view.
  2. For some reason I cant delete the opening, its as if its part of the floor, I have to undo my opening inorder to do it again.
  3. I cant edit openings anymore to edit them, nor can i click them, when I try clicking it, it only selects the floor.

Can somebody help me, i really dont get whats going on???

Thanks

Since you use Revit, I would have thought that any image posted would have been more descriptive.   Communicate!

  • You don't say anything about your view settings.   View depth?
  • What are the stairs?   Are they floor to floor or multi-level?
  • How did you make your opening?   Is it a shaft?   I prfer to edit the floor sketch.

Sorry about all that, its my first time posting here I thought I had adequate information.

My view range properties for the 3rd floor where im trying to make a vertical opening for floor to floor stairs are the following:

  • top: 7'-6
  • cut plane: 4'-0
  • Bottom: Associated level 3rd floor - no offset
  • Level: Associated level 3rd floor - no offset

Heres some more additional info that could be of use:

  • The height of of my second floor to third floor= 8'-10
  • The height of my third floor to roof=9'-10"

Hope this helps!

I even tried editing my floor but I still cant even see the stairs in plan view.

Thanks

Why is it that when I create a shaft on the floor (which isnt pinned) I cant edit it??? I used to be able to and now I cant. My stairs are solved, I went to Visibility/Graphics overrides and checked stairs.

Shaft openings have their own category in VG.   Are they on?
