I'm working in Revit 2015

I created a detail family that I was going to nest into another detail family.  When I go to link the detail family into another detail family or line based detail family, Link Revit is greyed out.  Am I missing something?  Can I not link a detail family into another detail family?

Thanks,

Darin

Link is a project process - not a family process.  You can only use insert in the family.

That would be fine but I can only Improt from CAD, not Revit.  How do I Import a Revit Detail Family into another Detail Family?

I said import .... I should have said insert .... in this case you obviously pick ....  DETAIL COMPONENT .... Too obvious?

You should have said, Load Family (since that's what the button says). Winking  I can't believe I missed that one.  Doh!  Thanks for the help.

We call this a "head slap" .... we all have done it - numerous times.  Sometimes it is just too obvious.
