Baby stuff this: Select 'view' then 'Elevation', in the properties section I want to select 'building elevation' or 'interior elevation' from the 'elevation' pull down menu - none are available. All that are available : 'floor plan: level 1' (which is what I am in) and 'elevation'. So basically the only options for elevations that I have at the moment is a site elevation. Has anybody come across this before? Many thanks

These selections are based on elevation types.  You, or someone else, deleted the missing types from your project or template.  You will have to recreate them or use transfer project standards to bring them in from a project that still has them.

Thanks for that, the thing is the matter what project I go into or template, I can't produce them. I am not a frequent user and to recreate elevations seems complicated as I am assuming that they are a system family. I don't know how I did it but must have deleted them off Revit altogether - is that possible. Would it be easier to uninstall Building design Suite 2013 and reinstall. Would that sort the problem?

Create your own types.

Use a stock template and transfer project standards.

Created different elevations by the duplicate method. However when I select elevation from the view panel, over in the properties box, the only options which appear under the 'elevation' pull down button are a floor plan and elevation, instead what should be there ie Building and interior elevations. This even happens in a new project with whatever template file I use. Thanks anyway for the help.

I don't know what you mean.  The elevation pulldown on the ribbon is as shown below.

If you mean the properties pulldown, then you should see the newly created types as my duplicated building elevation 2 shows.  If you don't see it then you didn't create any new types.

When I create a new elevation it is placed within the properties pull down. I just want the building and interior elevations to show within revit. For instance I have through control panel taken revit right back to the way it was when it was originally installed, and what I get in the properties download is as enclosed. I will now uninstall revit and then install and see if I can get them back.

I think you are showing us the properties for the callout family - not the elevation view.  Otherwise, someone renamed your stock elevations.... whay else would one be called "Floor Plan Level 1"? << No such elevation

When you edit the view type, you will see this menu and this is where you create your types.  NOT in the callout family - that is used in this type definition.

Thanks, I just recall going through elevation etc and in the pull down menu there was the default to select either building or interior/exterior elevations (you could duplicate etc and create more which would show). So basically I don't understand how they have disappeared and a plan is now showing. I have unistalled and I am in the process of installing. If 'interior/external/building' aint there razor blades will be out. I will look into the callout family as you suggested when I get it up and running. Thanks again!
