Hi Im new to using the MEP side of Revit and am encountering problems with a project i am working on.I am about to begin the process of adding plumbing to the project. The problem i have is when i open a new MEP project in Revit i then insert the revit link of my project which was done in architectural. When this is loaded it doesnt allow me too select any individual components like the sinks or w/c's as it all seems too be one drawing. ( Need these so i can connect to them)Is there anyway too kind of explode it like in CAD??Any Help is appreciatedCheers

You need to spend some time with the tutorials and youtube videos.  Revit doesn't work like cad.  You link in the architectural project then copy/monitor the architectural components but use true MEP components that can be connected.

WWHUB is right. forget what you knew with CAD. CAD and Revit is not like, "same book different chapter", it two completely differenct courses. But you can bring in entities from one project to another. if you need collumn lins, levels, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, mechanical eqiupment, or plumbing fixtures, is possible to Copy/Monitor. Located on the collaboration tab. Spend some time messing with the options on that, one of the best tools in my opinion.

If you need more extensive items from other rvt's you can go through the process of selecting what you want in the original file>make a group out of the selection>make a link out of the group(this segragates the selection, and makes it a separate file)>then link that file into your project file, and reverse engineer, what you just engineered>onced linked>make it a group>then ungroup it. theis method you can get just about anything from one rvt to another rvt.

hope it helps.
