Hi again Revit City,

I've run into a problem that I can't figure out on my own. I'm trying to print a set of (40ish) sheets to PDF. Some of the sheets do not appear on the list inside the print dialog. I can see the sheet in my project browser, I can go to the sheet and view it with no problems, the sheet just does not appear at all on the list inside the print window. This is the only place it doesn't appear.

I have found a workaround for this....delete the sheet and make it again from scratch. This will be a tedious and grueling process, but at this point it's the only thing I know to do. I did one sheet like this just to test it, and it appeared in the print window after recreating.

Does anyone know what causes this problem so I can avoid it in the future?

You don't say what Revit and what updates.  Before going any furthur, that may be your issue.

I have seen sheets compromised in the past in the same manner.  The correction is as you did but you may have not done enough.  Do you regualarly maintain your file by using the "review warnings" tool?  Do you audit?  Those may be your issues as well.  Good processes can prevent problems at inappropriate times.

Sorry, Revit Arch 2014 release 2. I do agree with your point about good processes, but I am the sole BIM guy at a construction company where most of the computers are running windows XP or vista (I am one of 2-3 people who use win 7), so we are really working on the fly when it comes to Revit modeling. Every job we do refines our processes a little more. Personally, I don't use the review warnings tool, but the tool has always been greyed out when I have looked at it. Does this mean there are no current warnings?

I've been creating sheets the same way for the past year or so and haven't changed anything about that process or the settings within. That's what led me to believe it was a bug in the first place. Unfortunately I haven't been able to recreate the problem; every sheet I have generated since the issue has shown up just fine in the print window.

Thanks again for the input WWHub, you have some fast fingers on these responses Smile

Review warnings should never be greyed out unless you are still in another process.  If you are doing larger projects, then try it again because this is an important tool to use.

I have a similar issue, sometimes, the drawing list has a few drawings it was refusing to update with the latest revision.

The only way I got it to behave was to end out of revit + reload revit, it fixed the problem, so there was definitely a database issue as far as I could tell. It was with 2015 revit, can't say what update.

sadly i cannot delete and recreate each sheet that isnt showing up.

I saved, restarted revit and still have the issue. Any thoughts?

Did you audit the file????  Always the first thing to do with problems like this.

Are you up-to-date?

Recreating the sheets was the only thing that worked for me. If there's absolutely no possible way to recreate them, you might try doing a "visible portion of current window" print and play around with the zoom settings on the sheet until you fill the page properly. But with that method, you'd have to print every sheet 1 at a time and this could be a nightmare if you have hundreds.

Totally up to date, and i just audited the file this morning, same issue, same random sheets missing in the batch plot window

also note for example one sheet contains  two drafting views, and one detail view.  and on top of this sheet lets say 210 missing in the batch plot window, the two drafting views and one detail also do not show up in the batch window also.

so sheet 210 , detail view 210, drafting view a 210 , drafting view b 210 do not show along with all of the the other random numbers

my batch is 200-2136 and roughly 25% are only showing

also note I had no issues prior to this using 100-1136 on the previous floor level

Prop.... Surely you are on subscription.   Take this to Autodesk immediately.  They will give you a 24 hr turn around on urgent issues.

Hello, I am experiencing this same problem in 2014 and 2015, more than likely 2016.

Under the bonnet, Revit has a ViewSheetSetting that lists AvailableViews to print. Unfortunately this is a read only collection. I have a support request in with Autodesk to try resolve this issue. With over 1000 sheet we are not recreating or printing them one at a time...

Also each view has a CanBePrinted setting, this returns true, so you would expect it to show in the Available views list.
