Hello!

  I am trying to load a column that I created into a Revit floor plan and it says that it cannot be loaded.  I attached it and if anyone can figure out what I did wrong that would be amazing!

You have it as an air terminal family, you need to change it to be a column, once I did that I had no problem.

How did you change it to a column? I tried to copy and paste it into a new column family and it still did not load

You should read the Families Guide it will be a huge help on learning families

You need to open the family that you have and on the Create tab>Properties panel> Family Category and Parameters> In the Family Category and Parameters dialog box change it to Columns and hit ok then click load into project.

I did that, but then I got an error message saying "some or all of the family files you selected cannot be loaded. You must choose family files of the category component." Is there another step I forgot to do?
