Hi all,

I am having difficulty with a current roof design. The idea is the roof has a central atrium, whil emaintaining the pitch and hipped nature of the roof. I have attached some pics to explain but basically, whenever I wanto to finish the sketch, the error message appears telling me that 'inner loops of a footprint sketch may not have defining edges'. I understand that this may be an issue in other circumstances, however it is well within the scope of the roof design as it is all at the same pitch (22 degs) with the same overhang to eaves of (300mm). Please can some one advise me as to what I am missing, or how to create the roof I want.

many thanks,

Tim

why not do the little link roof as a separate roof.

then just copy to extra location.

then draw a couple reference planes and trim each roof to that (at the valley lines)

(use vertical opening tool)

after copying etc , use join geometry.

cheers

Cheers Geoff,

Worked well thanks, nice one, although I'm finding with alot of Revit issues, to create a separate element or kind of manipulate the tools you have to make it look right seems to be the key. More thinking outside the box....
