I am not quite sure what to do here. I created a simple family for corner trim. It is just an extrusion. The work plane is the reference plane that's locked to the reference level, and the top of it is locked to another reference plane. My dimension is locked to the reference planes, not the level. Once loaded into the project, I can see the shape handles in elevation, but not the 3-D. I want the handles in 3-D! Can anyone explain what’s happening or how to fix it?

Try changing the reference planes into reference lines

You will not see the shape handles in 3D.
