Am I missing something simple ?

Using Structure 2014, anything glass in the linked arch'l model shows up thru all other objects in the 3D views.

VG of link set to be controlled by host view and all walls, floors, roofs, doors, etc have transparency in host view set to zero.

No Structural elements have been added yet. All objects seen in the attached .pdf are part of the linked arch'l file.

Any glass, regardless of location in building or arch'l family (window, curtain wall, doors, railings) shows thru all other objects.

thanks for any insight

Seems like a Graphic card issue, try to update the GC drivers, update the last web-update to Revit or delete (refresh) that view and create a new one.

totally forgot about checking that.  Drivers were up to date but I turned off the hardware acceleration in the graphics options and that fixed it.

thanks for your help

Turning off hardware acceleration is a remedy to the problem, but your system may suffer in performance (depends on fast your graphic card is / your model complexity) - therefore not advisable. I haven't had that problem on revit 2014. It seems that autodesk expects that the graphic card producers fix with on their drivers things that use to work fine on previous revit releases...
