Somehow one of our linked models got Unloaded, when I reload it back in I will have to redo all of my customization as far as turning off grids, levels, etc. for that particular link in every single View Template and independent views.

Not sure how it happened, either user error or server migration issues, but besides berating the team for unloading/removing the link any ideas on how to get the visibility settings back, or prevent from happening in the future?

Thanks!

This is a user error, even if the connection is broken, Revit maintains the link.

If you have a still with the link and there has not been much work done since the local was saved, you can create a central from that.  You can also possibly roll back your central to the point that still has the link.  Do this only after you create a new central with new name to fall back on.

You can prevent this if you put the link in a workset that you checkout.

I tend to agree with you that it is user error, and thank you for confirming that Revit will keep the link unless it is manually (stupidly) removed.

Too much has been done in the last few days to roll back to a previous file.

Good call on locking the worksets.
