When doing renovation work we typical have equipment that will be removed and retain for reinstallation later. The question is do we demolish the equipment and thus have to create new equipment, or does it make more sense to just use override element graphicsthe or the linework tool ( which i always forget about) and show it as <demolished> ?

The obvious issue being theres only one piece of equipment in reality but we have 2 in the model. I may be splitting hairs here but I was curious. I couldn't find anything in the past forums about this...

thanks,

We always demolish (noted to be relocated) and show another in the new phase but the new one is "owner provided" (Graphics are different) and noted as relocated from existing location.

Using the linework tool will just change the line styles not the phase that it is in.  If it is being removed I would show it as being demolished.  You will have 2 families of it but you can put them right on top of eachother and they will not reconize eachother because they are in different phases.

<Hub beat me again before I hit submit, thats twice in one day! lol>
