Im a bit stuck!

I have come to a model that has been drawn in the wrong location to the Ordinate Survey. The model that has been drawn is quite advance and i dont want to mess around with it to much. plus the views have all been set up in the current location.

I have been asked by my manager to make sure the project is in the right location to that of the Ordinate survey.

I did have a look at the Revit manual and one part did catch my eye which sounded ideal (recording new location with managed links). the way i read this is that I was to import the revit i wanted to move into a file with a refference of its correct location. Then, move the link so that it is in the correct location and in managed links click save position. (which then the manual suggest you will get options to actually move the project within the link file and not the host)

I got to the managed link part of this and when pressing save position nothing happens. it doesnt give the dialog box that the 2011 user guide suggests. (i have attached an image of the manual im reffering to). Im not sure if it is because im using a 2011 user manual but working in 2013....

Does anyone know of the best way to solves  these problems (even if its not the one im looking at) as I often encounter the problems when recieving files from different disciplines.

Thanks

Look in your help under Relocating a Project

Relocating a Project

The Relocate this Project tool moves the entire project relative to the shared coordinate system.

  1. Click Manage tabProject Location panelPosition drop-down(Relocate Project).

You use the tool just like the Move tool.

  2. Move the project graphically in the view. See Moving Elements with the Move Tool.
Note: If you have set levels or spot elevations to report values from the shared origin, their values update. See Level Type Properties and Changing Elevation Reporting.
