Our office uses Revit 2013 and is using worksharing for the first time. One user created the central file of a project. The other users go to the Revit Open dialog box, find the central file and, with the "Creat New Local" box checked, open the project. The user that created the central file is able to sync to the central file with no problems, however all the other users are unable to sync, receiving the error message that "Unable to write to ... , it is read only or open by another user." However the file does not appear to be read only nor open by anyone else. They are able to "Reload Latest" from the central file, but not sync. Any thoughts?

The person that created the file also needs to create his/her own local. Nobody should be working in the central. That person also needs to relinquish all.

We've made sure that no one is working in the central file itself. It even doesn't work when only one person is working on the project (within their own local file).

This sounds like a network issue. Are your users allowed to write to this location on the network?

It could be a IT issue, as it looks like only the creator has rights to the central file, and no one else. We are currently looking into that.

I highly suspect the 'other' users do not have 'editable' writes to either the folder or file itself in question. Seen it many times.
