I have done this before but I cannot find the file and today it does not work. I want a different gutter profile. this is what I did-

-find the file for the defult gutter

-copy it and rename to my project location

-open it and move the lines to how I want, but it is still an a closed loop.

-delete all the other family types to avoid any complication

-delete the two dimension parameters

-load into my project

-click on a gutter, edit type, duplicate, name different.

-choose profile of the new one to be the profile I loaded.

"cannot create gutter" it won't work.

It is bullcrap how hard Autodesk makes it to edit these stupid profiles. I went into the old project with my other custom gutter but there is no way that I know of to edit the profile from the project- you need the source file right? Any ideas? I am about to hide the gutter and redraw it in all like 10 views it's in.

I was able to copy the old custom gutter into this project, but I would like to know how to do this for the future. thanks

Without looking at your profile, we can not tell you what you did wrong.

This process is very simple.  All profiles must be closed and no additional lines.

I was going to screenshot it when upon investigation it was in fact in a closed loop. BUT there were two lines on the same spot in one part. That was the problem. I still wish I could just double click on a gutter to edit it's profiles...
