I am sure someone has already asked this before but I couldn’t find anything current so….Does anyone know of a good free way to generate custome hatch patterns to inport into Revit?

What I mean to say is, is there a hatch generator for free that works with Revit 2013 or AutoCAD 2013. I think HatchKit would work but it costs more money than I have (which is $0.00). Hatch22 also looks like a good fit but I am only finding that the last version is compatible with Revit 2011. I installed Myhatch but I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to run with AutoCAD 2004 or 2013 (it is possible that I am just too slow to figure it out and the instructions are in another language). So does anyone know of any other ones that are out there?

Hatch22 is what I hear the best things about. It is compatible with 2011,2012 and 2013

I am very pleased to finally get to the point of offering a public beta of HatchKit 2014 for all interested to trial and perhaps comment upon while we ready release versions.

HatchKit 2014 Beta works as a standalone application or will integrate with the HatchKit Add-In for Revit that is available from the Revit store at Autodesk Exchange.

The HatchKit Add-in for Revit allows large patterns exceeding the constraints on scale imposed by Revit's pattern import wizard to be loaded from HatchKit 2014.
HatchKit 2014 and the HatchKit Add-In for Revit work together to allow building a hatch pattern template (the entities repeated to for a pattern) within Revit, manage its passage to HatchKit for pattern arrangement and generation and on return bring the finished pattern into Revit for immediate use within the current project.
No DXF or PAT filehandling is required - all information transmission between HatchKit and its Add-In within Revit is automated.
The HatchKit 2014 Beta will operate until 1st September 2014 alongside any previous version of HatchKit to allow flexibility of operation in a production environment.

Haah, after starting this thread 2 years ago, I came back to it last night to find a hatch generator only to find that Hatch22 is now pay to use. This morning I was going to try to search for a free hatch generator only to see hugh’s post. I will download HatchKit 2014 to test it out and try to give some feedback. One question, does it work with the HatchKit Add-In on Revit 2015?

Yes, the HatchKit AddiIn for Revit works with Revit 2013, 2014 and 2015 and should detect and communicate with an installed HatchKit 2014 Beta or HatchKit 2.7
We are very interested in any problems or questions you may encounter in HatchKit 2014 Beta's installation or operation.

RevitHatchBuilder Beta has worked for me the last few years. Custom stone, scallop roof shingles and intricate floor tile hatch patterns are easy.

RevitHatchBuilder is what I ended up landing on as well. Seemed to work okay for what I needed.

Mark T. is making a hatch creator using Dynamo. All preset, so you don't need to know how to use Dynamo very well.
