Hi,
Yes that it. We have been asked to ensure that
Every object that we use should import the parameter from the shared parameter with the associated GUID. Then for example no matter what family it is the GUID for the parameters are the same.
My take on this is as long as we use the same shared parameters each time we will keep the same GUID? Is this correct?

I don't understand what you are asking. Where is this GUID you are asking about?
A project can have elements in it that have shared parameters from many different sources. You can only count on the shared parameters initially furnished with Revit and resident in the family templates as being the same. Every manufacturer may have special shared parameters that they include in their families.

Hi
I think what we are being asked is to create a shared parameters file, which will have the a GUID. If we use this shared parameters for our models then we will always have the GUID?
I dont really understand what relevance this has to the final model? As long as the paramaters work?

We maintain an Office Shared Parametes file for use on all of our projects. That file resides in our network support area. For individual projects that require addational shared parameters, we may create a seperate file for those parameters only and place that in the project directory.
Here is what you don't seem to understand. Once a shared parameter is loaded into the project by way of family or project parameter, the shared parameter file is no longer needed. As a matter of fact, you can recreate a shared parameter file by exporting the parameters out of the family.
I believe what you are wanting to create is an office standard parameters file. Start with the default file and build from there.

Excellent. Thanks for your help.
What you have said is along the lines of what I was thinking. I am on my own here and it is good to get feedback from some else.
Thanks again.
