I'm sure this has been answered before but I couldn't find anything to address this with any kind of consistent answers in the forums.
Using Revit Architecture 2012.
I'm modeling a house with a walkout basement and am working on the foundation plans. I had originally modeled the house with the basement wall with a concrete core of 8", then insulation, furring & drywall all as 1 wall. Now that I am doing the foundation plan I only want to see the core (the concrete). From what I can tell the only way to make this work is to use "create parts" and explode the wall basically. I'd prefer not to bog down my model by doing this.
Should I have just modeled the concrete wall and the furred out portion of the wall separately?
What do you do?
Thanks!

You can do it your way (seperate walls, one agaist the other and joined)... we do that quite often.

Yes I do it as two seperate walls. But like WW said make sure you 'join' them so when you put a window in it will penetrate both walls.
Also pay attention to the corner joins. They can be problematic.

Do it as it would be built.
"modeled the concrete wall and the furred out portion of the wall separate"
Then join where needed.
