We just started using a new existing conditions firm and they produced the existing conditions model in an out of the box Revit template rather then our firms. After linking the Revit model into our template, binding it and ungrouping it I found that all of the true levels have been turned into dumb levels. This is a huge problem that I need to resolve quickly and efficiently.
The only thing I can think of to fix the problem is to create new true levels and reassign the associated level/base & top constraints for each and every item with in the model. My problem with this is that it's a huge model and is going to take a very long time as well as I am fearfull that I will miss some items therein deleting them when i delete the dumb levels.
Does anyone have a more efficient way of taking care of this? Please help!

Sorry, but I don't see any easy solution. Too many people think the "easy way" is a good solution. This was just plain stupid.
Your best bet may be to schedule items including the level. Then you canuse a tiled view to see each element and correct it.
Good luck!

You have just confirmed my fears. We sent our template over three times and they just went with the one out of the box.
I tried using schedules but it seems that they don't see the dumb levels. Can you provide any more information as to how you would use them?

This was not a template problem, it appears just to be user error.
I don't know what you mean by "dumb levels". That could be just graphics or really levels but no plans were made by level and nothing was attached to them. I assumed the latter.
Either way, you will have multiple levels in your project and theirs had at least one. So, your schedule would show everything that is level associated as being on one level. You can reassociate those by schedule to the level they should be on, then I assume these objects will need new offsets.
