In earlier releases of Revit, embedded details in families and if I remember, curtain wall profiles were shown at mid level of the elements.  That is why I suggested that this may be a cut plane issue.

Your issue might also be >  Is this really the same element?  People sometimes swap mullions.  A generic mullion and your manufacterer specific mullion would be different ... so just make sure.
