Hi everyone!

I've been trying to model the roof on the picture and drawing attached, but i simply can't figure out how to do it. It has the same profile on all four sides.

I tried with defined slopes, slope-arrows, roof by extrusion, splitting it in several elements...but nothing works.

I'm new to Revit, so I might need a quite detailed description to understand Winking I work in Revit 2012!

Kind Regards

Janne

A simple Roof by footprint with a Fascia will work

The mansard part of this is not really roof (could be considered a wall) although I would do it as a roof.  Just a rectangle with a rectangle hole in it for the flat roof area that is done seperatly.

WWHUb-->> But what about the slope on the mansard-part? It is sloped on all four sides. I don't know how to keep the sloped sides from continuing untill they meet and cut them off instead? (hope you understand :S )

The sloped sides is a roof by footprint.  A rectangle with a rectangle in the middle equal offset on all sides.  All of the exterior lines are set to slope.  The rectangle in the middle creates the hole for the flat roof done separately.

You can "edit" that family and change like you want.

g'day janne,

like typh says you can edit the sweep to any shape you want, just remember the line must loop.

i think i placed it by picking the inside face of wall !! mystery to me too.

i should have made the rafter spring off point at the intersection in the family. guess im a newby at this stuff too.

i just use primitive shapes so you need to flesh out the section with some detail lines.

cheers cobber. and go... mark webber.
