I'm trying to model a wall (by face) and a roof (by face), using the faces of a conceptual mass as directed. I am now facing the issue of cleaning the joint of these element up. Am i missing a really simple setting or should i go about this differently. Thanks in advance.

You need to create a VOID in that category (Wall) to create that joint, use IN-PLACE family.
