I've tried using the sweep and sweep/blend component tools but I cannot figure them out. Does anyone know of a good step by step process or of a site I can visit that has the process? Any help would be appreciated.

Check out youtube.com, cadclips.com and therevitkid.com... you should be able to find some pretty good tutorials out there.
