Hi,
How can pads share edges? I have tried what have been suggested in Forums discussions:
- Draw the pad 2 on different level, move it down into position
- copying the line, which I want to share an edge to the clipboard and then pasting that into the other pad sketch
- I tried a reference plane as the shared line
- copy/paste pad 2 from clipboard
None of this works. I always get a tiny slim slice between my pads. Please can anyone help.

select pad - edit boundary - copy the lines - close the pad - start a new pad - paste aligned the lines from the first pad - delete all the lines you do not want and draw the rest - should work...

mathill,
thank you for you response. unfortunately it works only when the building pad is level & rectangular.
i have 2 sloping building pads which are connected but with different slopes/gradients. any idea how i can share those edges?

pads are a real pain, did you try spliting the topo surface

unfortunately not. when i draw a split surface and locate the pads exactly on the boundary lines, I get 'A Pad can't extend beyond the edge of a Toposurface'. I have to move them slightly away and then I get the tiny upstand again.
any more ideas how to solve this?

If the shared pad ege is level, then mathills method should work. Does for me - see image.

hi wwhub,
do both of your pads slope? when i draw 2 sloping pads with shared edge on same level -100mm offset topographie (like a road consisting of 2 parts with 2 different slopes), it won't work unfortunately. I think if one pad is straight, it will work. Thank you anyway. if you have any more ideas, i would be grateful.

Look at the image and you will see that both slabs slope. As mathill says, edit the one slab and copy the lines to clipboard. Paste those into your new sketch and delete all of the lines except the shared edge.

Pain in my a$$$$ ive been here. Here is the solution: Make all your pads on exactly the same level with all the same properties. Begin by sketching each pad region one at a time. You should now be able to complete the pad sketch with the shared edges. After this is done, Select your pad and modify the properties to change the elevations, structure etc.
