Hi, im modeling a shower family right now and i want to put recessed can in an extrusion that would be acting as a ceiling. however, that extrusion isnt labeled as a ceiling so i cant put a can in it. Is there a way to make an extrusion a ceiling, or a way i can put the imperial recessed can fixture into the extrusion as is?

What kind of family is that? Are you creating that family directly in your project with an "In-Place"? If so, just open that family and change the "Category" to "ceiling" in "Family category and parameters".
Ceilings like walls, roofs, stairs or floors are "System families" you don't have a "Template" to create them.
