I am trying to figure out a way to generate a parameter (most likely a shared parameter) where we can have some sort of "toggle" for various wall rating types, i.e. 1 HR, 2 HR, etc. Each "toggle" would then change the hatch pattern within the wall to change to a particular wall pattern giving the impression of a polyline or line drawn on top of the wall. We utilize these many times to indicate where rated walls exist, so our MEP engineers know where to provide dampers, etc.

In the past, we have done these as a custom linetype, drawn as linework, on a workplane 4'-0" above the working plane of the level so they are not "hidden" by the wall. I would like to see if these might be able to be incorporated into the wall styles, which we have several in our company template already. We also have a wall tag that would be nice to be able to "read" the wall mark, and pull the "rating" from that wall into the tag. I understand there is a "Fire Rating" parameter of the walls, but is there a way to create a shared paremater that is linked to the wall rating? When we do our drawings, not all of our particular wall types are rated, i.e. we may have 30 Type A walls, but only 10 of those are "rated". I may be asking too much, but figured I would ask. I am attaching some images of what our wall lines look like now, as well as our tags.

Many discussions here in the forums about doing what you want but no success as of yet.  Search the forums for the various discussions and pay attention to the similar threads listed at the bottom.

I don't see how you can do this with one wall type.  We use multiple types - rated and un-rated walls.  By doing that, the wall will tag accordingly and the wall legend materials will ahve the correct tags.  We also have our rated walls colored red in coarse fill, working views but not sheet views.  We still use linework over the walls in our rated plan views.
