Is there a way to display a room name in abbreviated format on the room tag while simultaneously displaying the full room name on the room finish schedule?  Many times, the name simply does not fit into the room and looks clumsy with the leader option.  Why is that all the smallest rooms get the biggest names!

Examples:

"HOT WATER CLOSET" vs. "H.W."

"JANITOR CLOSET" vs. " JAN"

"ELECTRICAL/MECHANICAL ROOM" vs. "ELECT/MECH"

The only way to do this is to have an abbreviated room name parameter assigned to rooms and to create a new tag that uses that parameter instead of the Room Name.  .... << And I have done this on some projects.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking all along.  The main complaint I would have with that method is that I would have to copy all the same exact names twice; one for the schedule and one for the customized room tag since most room names don't need to be abbreviated.

Just go ahead and create the tag, but only use when you need an abbreviated room name. This will eliminate the need to do this to all tags.

As James says, only use the abbrev tag in those rooms.  And only fill in the abbrev. value in the rooms where you need it.  I also have room tags that I call Light & Narrow.  They have a smaller font and a reduced width for small scale plan use.
