I'm drawing chairail in a room using "Wall Sweep". When I come to the stair I need the chairail to angle up the stairway. But using wall sweep I can't get the chairail to angle. I tried using a model line and the chairail profile as a gutter. Still no luck. I'm sure it must be something simple. Please help. It's driving me crazy. Thanks

You need to do an in-place sweep using your wall plane as the work plane.

Thanks. At the risk of sounding like a total dweeb, could you elaborate somewhat. By the way I'm using Revit Arch.2011. I'm fairly new at this.

U can create a sweep on any work plane. So you can either use the wall work plane or create your own. When you create the work plane give it a name. This will allow you to use the framing elevation view which will look directly at the work plane. Then you create an in place object using sweep. Look at the Home / Component / Model in place. When you start the path start it level, this will allow you to use a section view that will be vertical to draw the cross section or profile of the sweep. Before you start the process make sure you have a section view that will allow you to look perpendicular to the first segment. Usually looking back at the previous path so that you can use as reference to create your sweep profile.
