this is my first time using railing outside of stairs. i'm trying to get my railing to go at an angle that is on top of a 4 ft angled wall alongside of the stairs. i don't want the railing on the stairs just on the wall next ot the stairs. but when i put the railling on the wall it runs horiz. not at the at the angle of the wall.

it allows you to set the host that the railing identifies with so if the host is a ramp then it will have the same angle as the ramp and the vertical dimensions will be based on that ramp.

STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS. DOES THE SET HOST ONLY WORK WITH RAMPS. I CAN'T PICK THE THE WALL ALONG SIDE THE STAIRS FOR MY HOST. I KNOW THERE HAS TO BE A WAY TO PLACE RAING ON A SLOPED WALL. IT IS A FAIRLY COMMON DESIGN.

I just re-read your first post. You can do this by offsetting your railing and let the stairs host the railing. Set the stairs as your host.

Hi albertstwrt, 1-Pick the railing and then pick on "edit" button (see images) 2- pick "Set Host" button and pick the stairs 3- finish sketch and that's all.....
