I have downloaded some sun shading devices from RevitCity and the files loaded just fine, but as I try to place the items on an elevation it states that it cannot find a suitable view to work with.  See attached screen shot.)

Please help!  I can edit the family if needed too, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.

I don't know anything about the family so this is just a shot in the dark.

Try placing from a plan view instead.  Note, is this a mechanical family?  You may have to turn other categories on in VG to see this.  You can always open the family and look to see if it is face base/ floor based and what category it is in.

It is a mechanical family.  I will give the vg graphics a try!  I didn't think of that!  Previously, it wouldn't allow me to place it in plan view, so hopefully this works!
