are there any simple ways to create or modify and existing family so that i can have an oval/oval conical round tee fitting for medium pressure duct systems? crosses are used too.

for now we are using the plain oval/oval/oval tee and adding a transition from oval to round for the tee branch to a terminal box.

The good news: yes, it's pretty simple to do this.

The bad news: It's only simple once you understand the slightly more advanced than basic concepts of geometric modeling and connector parameters in Revit MEP. I have never done this myself but it should be a simple matter of editing the Oval/Oval/Oval tee and changing the appropriate tee to conical, adapting the connection element and loading it back int (saving it to its own separate file of course).

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!
