1. attachment. cannot figure this out, I guess work planes have nothing to do with edge creation.

bonus: I completed lynda tutorial. any suggestions on more advanced tutorials? (complicated forms of buildings etc.)

create the extrusion from an elevation view... click on set ( in work plane set) and click on a elevation plane ( use mass family for that) BUT the family will be elevation based hosted. one problem creates other >_<.

So... i try something and it works. Click create new mass family, there create a line on workplane horizontal. Click on the line and create a form from it ( it will create a plane)

On that plane set the work plane ( its now an elevation plane) from there start your shape ( use a box orkinde) add some edges, and finally click on the original plane where you hosted your form, and click on "dissolve. That will shrink all shape changes from the plane. Hope it helps

thx for help but it's still weird. I does not do what I aim for.

I am trying to make a wall like this: but would be glad to edit every single triangle

create that with a triangle pattern over an extrusion of a curved shape.

ok, but if I make a pattern I cannot move vertices (only the 4 original ones), if I manage to do "add edge". I can transform the shape. by moving vertices.

Let's say I want to make a curved wall with triangle pattern but without any mathematical dependency. (one triangle bigger one smaller, higher, lower etc.).

Sorry if these are stupid problems but I don't see why isn't there an option of moving vertices like in max.

there you use an adaptive components >_< all the tips are in the link that Typhoon post. Also today rkitect post a huge collection of videotutorials to make forms with mass

BUT as i said before, it would be easier with a triangle pattern, and add to the missing triangles an adaptive family, check the file i upload. The shape with adaptive components was made with a spline extruded, there i add edges , but its too much hard work when you need to do 10000 of that same triangulation, i add too the same ( kinda) shape made with the pattern, the border has a parameter so you can play with it. And if you need to add glass, well, edit the original file and reload it >_<
