I need to create an extruded family that can rotate in any direction. Is there a family type or an option button that I'm missing that will allow me to do this? It seems that everytime I create an extruded family I get the error, "Can't rotate element into this position" How do I get around this?

The only way I have found to do that is making nested families that are work plane based, then hosting them on reference lines that can then be rotated.

Have you turned always vertical off in the family?

Yes, I turned "Always Vertical" off and "Work Plane Based" on. I'll try the nested family thing and maybe that'll work. Thanks.
