I'm using Revit Arch 2010 (until tomorrow when I'll be getting 2011) and I'm trying to set up a sectional perspective rendering.  I have a school project and want to show the classroom layouts in the perspective.  I have the camera all set up, the scope box set up, and the lights grouped.  My question is should I use the interior, or exterior settings for the rendering?  I'd like to render the classroom lights on but it seem that no matter which settings I use (exterior/artificial only, exterio/sun and artificial, interior/artificil only, or interior/sun and artificial) I either get an all black rendering, or its completely washed out.

Am I missing something?  What is the best way to render a sectional perspective showing lighting?

Thanks in advance.

I don't see how you can use an interior setting unless the lights are actually in the view and I doubt that they are if this is a plan section perspective.

I would wait until you have 2011 and can use the realistic view rather than a rendering.

WWHub, you may have misunderstood.  I set up a 3d camera view, turned on the scope box and have a sectional perspective set up.  My light fixtures are visible in the camera view, but so is a lot of the exterior of the building.  I really am only interested in the classroom lighting.

So the question remains... interior or exterior?  Sun and artificial, or artificial only?

I am having the exact same problem, with the exception that I am trying to do a long section perspective, not a plan.  I have an underground Parking garage and above ground mass.  I am using studio lights, and when I render interior/sun artificial it is all white, and when I do exterior sun/artificial it doesn't even show the studio lights below ground.  I have attached a prelim rendering for reference.  In the rendering I attempted to put holes in the ground with shafts to allow sun in as skylights, however, it doesn't provide enough light for photoshop additions.
