Hi all,

are any of you also getting distorted Autocad underlays when inporting for tracing purposes? i get a slightly warped autocad line when i zoom in and when i zoom out- its streightens, is this a graphic card problem?

I cant seem to knwo exactly when i am tracing the loction of the walls and when the overlaps of comlumns and wallas are accurate

 thanks

Eli

Do you understand that because AutoCAD and Revit don't play by the same rules that this c an cause problems?  Revit works in a restricted way.  Revit wants nice square and parallel lines and smallest units is 1/256".  AutoCAD doesn't care and works to very small tolerances.  Lines in AutoCAD that appear to be parallel are usually not in Revit.  So be wary!

The warped line you see is probably because the line is not parallel in Revit.

OK... That being said... why trace it?  Cleanup a CAD file and then you can import what you need.  Again, be very careful because exploded CAD imports can cause problems.  I always recommend importing into a junk Revit file where you do final Revit line / text cleanup and then copy paste into your project.
