ok, here is the deal. i put in footing (pile cap with piles). i drew in reinforcing, but when I tried to copy it around (to get the correct spacing) it moves the footing.
why is this ( i know it does it because it is hosted by the footing), im trying to find out how to copy the rebar around. maybe how to unhost and rehost an object.

When you copy the reinforcing are you disjoining and removing any constraints that be on it?
Typically, thats what is causing it to happen at our office.

there are no constraints on it. i am only sketching rebar, then going to the section 90 deg from where I sketched it ( to space it correctly) and the footing moves).
i think I confused you somewhat, the model doesn't move, only that one footing.

this may help, or just confuse people. i can move the rebar fine, only copy causes the problem.
