Hi,

Was wondering can anyone point me in the right direction, i want to apply a hatch pattern to a surface with horizontal lines but differntly spaced from large gaps down to small gaps, as the attached picture, 

Any guidance be gratefully receievd?

Hatch patterns only work as "patterns".  That means the "pattern" has to repeat.  Where is the repetition on what you want? - I don't see any, therefore, it can't be a pattern.

So you are saying that your "pattern" is your wall height?  Fine, write a pattern that is taht large then.

That's the right answer.

 

Each pattern line would be of the form

 

0,0,y,0,z

 

where 0 is zero, y is the line's elevation and z is greater than the height of any facade using the pattern.

For a MODEL pattern Z should be less than 840" to allow the pattern to load at 1:1 scale.

 

A similar pattern with short vertical additions can be used to create a pattern for graduated slate roofing.
