I find it astounding that something as basic as a floor plan north arrow doesn't seem to be built into Revit--even with the new release. I'm I just missing it? I just did forum search for "north arrow" and saw posts from 2006 to 2008, but nothing recent.

Sure I can download someone's north arrow and insert it or create my own. but why isn't this basic graphic symbol as much a part of the software as cutting a section or placing a title?

Someone tell me I'm wrong and point me in the right direction.

North arrows have always been something that is usually unique to the individual offices.... and wow - they are really hard to create!

Sorry - but I think most users will say you are wrong.  Here is a pointer for you:  There are 8 north arrows available here on RevitCITY search "north" and you can find one you like - maybe.

I believe what he was trying to say is:  Why in Revit 2011 can we not associate the North Arrow with the true north (or project north) yet?  We have gone through the work to specify true north for the project, the North Arrow should be able to represent this automatically instead of inputing the angle ourselves.

I'm actually going to submit this as a wishlist because it seems like we should have this simple feature already.

dclarke1957 and Rodan2000. I concur with both of you. I'm not sure why the moderator got so snippy with this topic.

It really surprises me how many people think Revit should do something that they don't have in any other software.  Ah... The limitations of this program!
