I've got a Revit Architecture Model with a Revit Structure model linked into it.

I've modeled the Finishes, Walls and buiding envelope in Architecture, and the concrete floor slabs and steel in Revit Structure.

The Walls are currently linking to the floor finsihes which are modeled as a 2" thick materal above the structural slab, and therefore in section it appears as though my walls penetrate my structural slab.

Any suggestions?

Usually, we assign floor levels to the top of the sub-floor, not the structural level as you seem to have done.  Then structural may assign a TOS level in their model that is lower that we would turn off.   But this is not a problem, just assign a base offset to your walls.

The structure is comprised of both a steel and concrete frame, with steel decking and a concrete structural slab.

The finish levels vary in thickness, and complexity, sports flooring, polished concrete, raw slab, therefore it would not make sense in this case to have the subfloor as level as it not consistant.

Instead we've assigned the top of the structural slab as the level, and the architectual model is working above that, really I think it should not  matter as long at there is a clear breaking point.

I do not wish to manually offset each wall by the thickness of the slab, as they are not consistant, but when I tried it I was unable to break the bond between floor and wall.

Is there a way to attach a wall to a linked revit floor in 2010?

If not we're upgrading any day now, does this change in 2011?

I've found that detaching the walls from the finish floor, and manually locking them to the underside of the structural slab seems to be the best way so far, any other thoughts on how to make this a more REVITOLOGICAL Methodology?
