Is it possible to convert a component I've created in the form of a wall into an actual wall?  If it's not, then is there a way to create a wall based on the profile of my component?

You can create an in-place element that is an extrusion sweep or revolve that is in the wall category.  You can create a mass and do a wall by face.

Perhaps if you described better what you are trying to do, we could help you more.

What I've already done is create a component for the wall, unfortunately I set it as a furniture component rather than a wall component, so it's not allowing me to add doors or windows are anything like that.  Is there a way to change the component type to be a wall-type?

Edit that "Wall", go to "Family category and Parameters" and change the category to Wall....

*puts on dunce cap*

I was tying to change its category outside of the edit area, with the element properties...

Thank you very much, that solved that problem.  You wouldn't happen to know what causes this error message while trying to create a mass:

"Unable to create form element: self-intersecting or singular geometry would result."

This is what the profile layout is, each of these is a rectangle, nothing complex.  The only change is in the height.
