Look, use "Model Lines" to create the "Skeleton" of the path/object then use "Solid Sweep" and use "Pick Path".... just like that...

the whole reason this mass thing came about when when doing a path for a sweep is that it's easier to do that when creating the Skeleton and then use "Pick Path", than doing it the way Tyhoon mentioned in his last post. Actually you should use a void mass so there's no chance of the mass being displayed. but if you want, you do not have to use a mass to create the path for sweep.
