I am trying to create a code sheet schedule and I have it working pretty well.  There is one hang up, when I use the room style to calculate code information it changes my room name, ie  Mikes' Office would get changed to Office when I change the room style to Office.  Is there a way to overwrite this or add Room Styles to the list?  Thanks.

Room style schedules control all rooms of a specified style.  If you don't want that field controlled by room style, then don't include it...

What you have to do is create a new shared parameter for your "real room name" that can be placed in the schedule.

1.)Since you have your room tag placed, highlight one of the tags and edit the family.

2.) highlight the label that says Room Name and edit the label.  On the left-hand side of the Edit Label Box you will see the Category Parameters associated with the labels.  You will have to make a new one.

3.)There is a shared parameters file here.  click on it.  If you don't already have one you will have to make a new one. click 'Create' (save in same folder as project), click 'New...' under groups, name it "real room name" or whatever.  Now created a new parameter "name as it would appear in schedule" and hit "ok" until you get back to the screen where you assign parameters to the label.

4.)Assign the "name as it would appear in schedule" and remove the "room name" parameter. Hit ok.

5.) You should now save this as a new tag type, and then load it into your project, then replace all the old room tags with the new ones.

6.) After loaded, in your manage tab, hit the "project parameters" button. hit "add".  be sure the shared parameters circle is highlighted and then the "select" option will be available.  select "name as it would appear in schedule" and hit "ok" you will have to select "rooms" under your categories since that is what it is referencing.

7.) Now, when editing your room schedule, there will be a paramter to add called "name as it would appear in schedule". Which you just type text into once in the schedule, and it appears in your tags as the room name instead of "room name"

 sorry so long. hth.

I would not do that... just don't include the room name in your styles.  Then that name can be whatever.

From the HELP "In the Schedule Properties dialog, add the predefined fields for the style. For example, add ceiling finish, floor finish, and wall finish."  If you don't put it in the style - it will not be controlled.
