I need help... I've been trying to rotate the topo with the building and the view is set with 'Shading w/ Edges' on. I should ention that I have tried rotating it by rotating the crop region and by using the 'true north / project north' tool.

Here is what's happening, every time I rotate the view (site plan view) the entire drawing turns almos black (shadows are not on, and do not have set up a date and time.

Any ideas of why this is happening?

thanks

You said that you have tried rotating the crop box. This is what I do in order to make the project fit on my sheets the way I want. Usually the boundary and topo are from a surveyor, If you do not use the center of rotation tool correctly it will rotate write off your screen. I usually move the center of rotation either to a property corner or a future building corner and rotate on to the building line that I intend to use as my base line. Hope this helps.

I had this very problem and while I can't tell you why it is happening I can tell you my workaround. Open the "Graphic Display Options" window. Now hopefully my attachment works and you can see the settings I use. If not then let me know and I'll be happy to describe them. So if you can see in the picture my roof and concrete should be white but by rotating the crop region they have turned dark gray. Using these settings turns them back to white. This doesn't solve the problem, only makes it more tolerable. I should say that I create new "Still" settings by duplitating the "Sun and Shadow Settings" set so that it won't interfere with other views. Hope it works for you.
